PC Technician - Short-Term Contract (Facility Move & New Building Setup)
Location: Redondo Beach, CA (new building one block from current site)
Duration: Up to 2 weeks (late April)
Schedule: Full-day shifts during move weekend (up to 12 hours); no overnight work
Overview
We are seeking hands-on PC Technicians to support the opening of a new facility located one block from the current site. This is a short-term contract role supporting a large-scale office move for approximately 245 employees. Work will take place a few days before the move, during the move weekend, and a few days after, for a total engagement of up to two weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rack and stack of IT equipment in the new facility
- Install, connect, and validate PCs, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals
- Support large-scale desktop, cabling, and workstation moves
- Assist with Tier II-level support tasks during and immediately after the move
- Troubleshoot basic desktop, hardware, and connectivity issues post-move
- Work closely with IT staff to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption
- Execute all duties in a fully hands-on capacity, including physical setup and teardown
Move Details
- Facility move scheduled for one weekend at the end of April
- Technicians may work up to 12-hour shifts on move day
- No overnight shifts required
- Work includes setup days before the move and stabilization/support days after
- Some technicians may remain onsite during non-move days to assist with additional tasks
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience as a PC Technician, Desktop Support Technician, or similar
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Rack and stack
- Hardware setup and plug-and-play deployments
- Office and workstation relocations
- Comfortable with physically demanding, all-day technical work
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to follow direction in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work the full move window
